An Act to determine the quorum of members of the House of Representatives

1  Short title [see Note 1]

            This Act may be cited as the House of Representatives (Quorum)
         Act 1989.

2  Commencement [see Note 1]

            This Act commences on the day after the day on which it
         receives the Royal Assent.

3  Quorum

            The presence of at least one-fifth of the whole number of the
         members of the House of Representatives is necessary to constitute
         a meeting of the House for the exercise of its powers.
