Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) If during the progress of a voyage the master is removed or superseded, or for any other reason quits the ship, the master shall deliver to his or her successor the various documents in his or her custody relating to the navigation of the ship and to the crew thereof.
Penalty: $1,000.
(2) The master's successor shall, immediately on assuming the command of the ship, enter in the official log-book a list of the documents so delivered to him or her.
Penalty: $1,000.
(3) For the purposes of this section, the papers containing the information required to be on board a ship under section 192B shall be deemed to be a document relating to the navigation of the ship.
