Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) The Governor-General may, if at any time he or she considers it expedient in the public interest to do so, by Proclamation suspend, for such time as is specified in the Proclamation, the operation of any of the foregoing provisions of this Part, as regards any ship or class of ships, and either unconditionally or subject to such conditions (if any) as he or she thinks fit to impose.
(2) A Proclamation issued in pursuance of subsection (1) may provide for suspension for the period specified in the Proclamation, or may provide for suspension until the issue of a Proclamation revoking the prior Proclamation.
