Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) A * member who has a direct or indirect pecuniary interest in a matter being considered or about to be considered by the Council must disclose the nature of the interest to a meeting of the Council.
(2) The disclosure must be made as soon as possible after the relevant facts have come to the * member's knowledge.
(3) The disclosure must be recorded in the minutes of the meeting of the Council.
(4) Unless the Minister or the Council otherwise determines, the * member:
(a) must not be present during any deliberation by the Council on the matter; and
(b) must not take part in any decision of the Council with respect to the matter.
(5) For the purposes of the Council making a determination under subsection (4) in relation to a * member who has made a disclosure under subsection (1), a member who has a direct or indirect pecuniary interest in the matter to which the disclosure relates must not:
(a) be present during any deliberations of Council for the purposes of making the determination; or
(b) take part in the making by the Council of the determination.
