Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) The owner of an animal held, or to be held, in a quarantine station may agree with the Commonwealth, on such terms and conditions as are set out in the agreement, to provide sustenance for the animal during the period, or a part of the period, while the animal is so held.
(2) A Director of Quarantine may, by notice given to the owner of an animal ordered into quarantine, direct the owner to provide sustenance for the animal during the period, or a part of the period, while the animal is so held.
(3) A person is guilty of an offence if:
(a) a direction is given to the person under subsection (2); and
(b) the person fails to comply with the direction.
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units.
