(a) The Statistics (Arrangements with States) Act 1956 was amended by section 115 only of the Statute Law Revision Act 1981, subsection 2(1) of which provides as follows:
(1) Subject to this section, this Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
(b) The Statistics (Arrangements with States) Act 1956 was amended by section 96 only of the Public Service Acts Amendment Act 1982, subsection 2(1) of which provides as follows:
(1) Sections 1, 2 and 3, subsection 4(2), sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16 and 17, subsections 18(1) and 25(1), sections 28, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 52, 57, 68, and 72, subsection 74(2), sections 75, 77 and 82 and Part IV (other than sections 89, 90, 94 and 95) shall come into operation on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.
