Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) The operating entity for a therapeutic protection place may direct a non-treating doctor to conduct a body search of a child or young person only if the operating entity suspects on reasonable grounds that the child or young person has ingested or inserted something that may jeopardise the child's or young person's health or wellbeing.
(2) In making a decision under subsection (1), the operating entity must have regard to the child's or young person's age, maturity, developmental capacity and any known history.
