Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) Two people who have given notice to the registrar-general and a civil partnership notary in accordance with section 8A may make a declaration of civil partnership before the civil partnership notary and at least 1 other witness.
(2) The declaration must be made not earlier than 5 days, and not later than 18 months, after the day the notice was given to the civil partnership notary.
(3) The declaration must be made by each person to the other and must contain a clear statement that—
(a) names both parties; and
(b) acknowledges that they are freely entering into a civil partnership with each other.
