ELECTORAL ACT 1992 - SECT 119

Polling places and scrutiny centres

    (1)     The commissioner may—

        (a)     appoint a specified place to be a polling place on polling day for an election; and

        (b)     appoint a specified place to be a scrutiny centre during the election period for the purpose of the scrutiny at an election.

    (2)      An appointment is a notifiable instrument.

Note      A notifiable instrument must be notified under the Legislation Act 2001 .

    (3)     During a pre-election period, the commissioner—

        (a)     must publish in a newspaper; and

        (b)     may publish by any other means the commissioner determines;

a notice setting out particulars of each polling place for the election.
