Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) The chairperson may call a meeting of the electoral commission.
(2) The chairperson shall call the meetings of the electoral commission necessary for the efficient conduct of its functions.
(3) At a meeting, 2 members constitute a quorum.
(4) The chairperson shall preside at all meetings at which he or she is present.
(5) If the chairperson is not present at a meeting, the commissioner shall preside.
(6) Questions arising at a meeting shall be determined by a majority of the votes of the members present and voting.
(7) The member presiding at a meeting has a deliberative vote, and in the event of an equality of votes, has a casting vote.
(8) If—
(a) only 2 members are present at a meeting; and
(b) those members differ in opinion on a matter, other than a matter because of which the third member is absent because of section 21;
the determination of the matter shall be postponed until the next meeting.
(9) The electoral commission may regulate the conduct of proceedings at its meetings as it considers appropriate.
(10) The electoral commission may inform itself on any matter in the way it considers appropriate.
