Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) The reporting agent of a candidate shall, within 15 weeks after the polling day in the election, give the commissioner a return.
Note 1 If a form is approved under s 340A (Approved forms) for a return, the form must be used.
Note 2 For how a return may be given, see Legislation Act 2001 , pt 19.5.
(2) A return shall specify the following matters in relation to the disclosure period for the election:
(a) the total amount of any gifts received by the candidate;
(b) the number of persons who made gifts to the candidate;
(c) the date each gift was received;
(d) the amount of each gift received;
(e) the defined details of each gift received.
(3) However, the reporting agent is not required to state the matters mentioned in subsection (2) (c) to (e) for a gift by a person if the amount of the gift and the total of all other gifts made to the candidate by the person is less than $1 000.
(4) A reference in this section to a gift is a reference to a gift other than a gift made in a private capacity to a candidate for his or her personal use that the candidate has not used, and will not use, solely or substantially for a purpose related to an election.
