LITTER ACT 2004 - SECT 24N

    (1)     A person commits an offence if––

        (a)     a removal notice is placed on, or attached to, a shopping trolley; and

        (b)     the person is not—

              (i)     an authorised person or police officer; or

              (ii)     the retailer; or

              (iii)     a person authorised by the retailer to collect the trolley; and

        (c)     the person removes, defaces or interferes with the notice.

Maximum penalty: 5 penalty units.

    (2)     An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
