LAND TITLES ACT 1925 - SECT 164A

Registrar-general may hold instrument for safekeeping

    (1)     On application, by a person entitled to hold a document, including a duplicate of a certificate of title or Crown lease, or by his or her legal practitioner, the registrar-general may accept the document to be held in his or her office for safekeeping.

Note     A fee may be determined under s 139 (Determination of fees, charges and other amounts) for an application to hold a document.

    (2)     A person who has deposited a document with the registrar-general under subsection (1), or his or her legal practitioner, may, in writing at any time, request the return of the document and the
registrar-general shall return that document.
