Australian Capital Territory Consolidated Acts(1) The director-general must give a mental health officer an identity card that states the person is a mental health officer for this Act and shows—
(a) the name of the person; and
(b) a recent photograph of the person.
(2) A person commits an offence if—
(a) the person was appointed as a mental health officer; and
(b) the person ceases to be a mental health officer; and
(c) the person does not return the person's identity card to the director-general as soon as practicable (but within 7 days) after the day the person ceases to be a mental health officer.
Maximum penalty: 1 penalty unit.
(3) An offence against subsection (2) is a strict liability offence.
