VOCATIONAL TRAINING REGULATIONS (NO. 20 OF 1989) - TABLE OF PROVISIONS 1. Citation 2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears-- 3. A vocation specified in the Schedule is a trade. 5. Where-- 6. For the purposes of paragraph 59 (1) (b) of the Act, the prescribed rate is $8 per day. 7. For the purposes of paragraph 62 (1) (b) of the Act, in relation to each trainee with whom an employer has entered into a contract of training, the following documents are prescribed: SCHEDULE VOCATIONAL TRAINING REGULATIONS (NO. 20 OF 1989) - REG 1 Citation 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Vocational Training Regulations. Interpretation VOCATIONAL TRAINING REGULATIONS (NO. 20 OF 1989) - REG 2 2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears-- "the Act" means the Vocational Training Act 1989. Trades VOCATIONAL TRAINING REGULATIONS (NO. 20 OF 1989) - REG 3 3. A vocation specified in the Schedule is a trade. Register of trainees 4. (1) The Chief Executive shall keep, in a form approved by the Authority, a register of trainees containing the following: (a) in respect of each trainee-- (i) the name of the trainee; (ii) the prescribed vocation in which training is being undertaken; (iii) particulars of the variations (if any) in, and the termination (if any) of, each contract of training entered into by the trainee; (iv) particulars of the annual progress of the trainee; (b) in respect of each prescribed vocation--the name of each person to whom the Authority has issued a certificate upon the completion of the approved training program in relation to the vocation. (2) A copy of an entry in the register certified by-- (a) the Chief Executive; or (b) a person authorised in writing by the Chief Executive; is evidence of the particulars contained in that entry. Change of address--employer VOCATIONAL TRAINING REGULATIONS (NO. 20 OF 1989) - REG 5 5. Where-- (a) an employer is a party to a contract of training; and (b) the employer-- (i) changes the name under which the employer carries on business; or (ii) changes an address at which the employer provides training under the contract; the employer shall, within 14 days after the change, notify the Chief Executive in writing of the change. Penalty: $100. Travelling allowance VOCATIONAL TRAINING REGULATIONS (NO. 20 OF 1989) - REG 6 6. For the purposes of paragraph 59 (1) (b) of the Act, the prescribed rate is $8 per day. Employers' records VOCATIONAL TRAINING REGULATIONS (NO. 20 OF 1989) - REG 7 7. For the purposes of paragraph 62 (1) (b) of the Act, in relation to each trainee with whom an employer has entered into a contract of training, the following documents are prescribed: (a) a record of the name, residential address and date of birth of the trainee; (b) a record of the approved training program that is being undertaken by the trainee; (c) a copy of the variations (if any) in the contract of training.
