Australian Capital Territory Repealed ActsThis legislation has been repealed.
(1) For the purposes of this Act, there shall be a standing committee of the council consisting of the members of the council referred to in paragraphs 13 (2) (a), (c), (d) and (e).
(2) A member of the standing committee may invite other persons to attend a meeting of the standing committee but a person so invited is not entitled to vote at the meeting.
(3) The director shall be the chairperson of the standing committee.
(4) If the director is not present at a meeting of the standing committee, the person nominated under subsection (9) to attend in his or her place shall chair the meeting.
(5) Three members of the standing committee form a quorum.
(6) The director may, and shall, if a member of the standing committee so requests, convene a meeting of the standing committee.
(7) Questions arising at a meeting of the standing committee shall be decided by the votes of a majority of the members present and voting.
(8) If the voting is equal, the person presiding has a casting vote.
(9) A member of the council may nominate a person to attend a meeting of the standing committee in the member's place and the person nominated shall, in respect of that meeting, be regarded as a member of the standing committee, may vote and shall be taken into account in determining a quorum.
