MOTOR TRAFFIC ACT 1936 (REPEALED) - SECT 90

Production of evidence of insurance policy

    Any owner of a motor vehicle who, on being required by an inspector, motor traffic officer or police officer, to produce evidence that there is in force in respect of every motor vehicle owned by him or her a policy of insurance complying with this Act, fails to do so, shall be guilty of an offence unless—

        (a)     he or she has a reasonable excuse; or

        (b)     he or she produces the required evidence at the Motor Registry, or a Police Station nominated by the owner at the time of the requirement, within 3 days after the production of the evidence was required.

Penalty: 2 penalty units.
