A Bill for an Act to impose charges in relation to the
registration of trustees under the Bankruptcy Act
1966
The Parliament of Australia enacts:
This Act may be cited as the Bankruptcy (Registration Charges) Act
1996.
This Act commences on the commencement of the Bankruptcy (Estate
Charges) Act 1996.
Unless the contrary intention appears, expressions used in this Act have
the same meanings as in the Bankruptcy Act 1966.
(1) A charge of $1,500 is imposed for making an application to be
registered as a trustee under section 154A of the Bankruptcy Act
1966.
(2) The charge is payable by the applicant to the Commonwealth.
(1) A charge of $1,000 is imposed for registering a person as a trustee
under section 155C of the Bankruptcy Act 1966.
(2) The charge is payable by the person to the Commonwealth.
(1) A charge of $1,000 is imposed for extending the term of a
trustee’s registration under section 155D of the Bankruptcy Act
1966.
(2) The charge is payable by the trustee to the Commonwealth.
(1) A charge of $500 is imposed for making an application under section
155E of the Bankruptcy Act 1966 for conditions applying to a registered
trustee to be changed or removed.
(2) The charge is payable by the trustee to the Commonwealth.
