The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Quarantine Proclamation

Amendment Bill 2009.

2 Commence ment

This Act commences on the day on which it receives the

Royal Assent.

(bb) for a permit to import fruit and vegetables - must consider:

(i)
the social and economic impacts to Australian industry,

farmers, contractors and farm employees of the

importation; and

(ii)
the environmental, social and economic impacts on all
11
Australians and the environment if diseases were to be
12
spread as a result of the importation; and
