The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Social Security Amendment

(Parenting Payment Transitional Arrangement) Act 2011.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on 1 July 2011.

Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or

repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule

Insert:

(ca) the person was the principal carer of the child immediately

before 1 July 2011; and

Paragraph 500D(3)(ca) of the Social Security Act 1991 applies for the

purpose of determining whether a person is a PP child of another person
11
on or after 1 July 2011.
