A Bill for an Act to allow State and Territory laws to
operate concurrently with the Trade Practices Act
1974
The Parliament of Australia enacts:
This Act may be cited as the Trade Practices Amendment (Operation of
State and Territory Laws) Act 2001.
This Act commences on the 28th day after the day on which it receives the
Royal Assent.
Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or
repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any
other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its
terms.

should be able to operate concurrently with this Part unless the law is directly
inconsistent with this Part.

inconsistent with this Part.
3 Application of items 1 and
2
The amendments made by items 1 and 2 apply in relation to a law of a
State or Territory made before, on or after the commencement of those
items.
