Item 1 of Schedule 2 proposes the insertion of a new section 58A into
the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission Act 1985 to
provide that there is also payable to the Commission amounts equal
to:
• any amount of registration charge or amount paid on account
of registration charge under section 80F or 80K of the Industrial Chemicals
(Notification and Assessment) Act 1989 (the ICNA Act);
and
• any registration charge actually paid on the assessment under
section 80QA or on a reconsideration or review of such an
assessment.
Subsection 110(1) of the ICNA Act provides that regulations
may prescribe fees, or a method of calculating fees, to be paid to the
Commonwealth, in respect of the applications, notifications and statements
listed in paragraphs 110(1)(a) - (v).
This amendment proposes to insert a
new paragraph to include in new subsection 58A(1) a reference to the fees paid
under subsection 110(1) of the ICNA Act in the amounts payable to the Commission
from consolidated revenue.
