GENERAL OUTLINE
This explanatory memorandum relates to a correction to the explanatory
memorandum to the Primary Industries Levies and Charges (Consequential
Amendments) Bill 1998.
FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT
There are no immediate financial implications for the Commonwealth, other
than the savings involved when changes need to be made, unless and until new
levies are imposed under this Act, as a result of these amendments and
corrections.

Item 46: After paragraph
109A(1)(b)
The paragraph should read as follows:
This item
provides a transitional arrangement to avoid any disruption to the method for
determining acquisition and import offset levy liability of prescribed exporters
in certain circumstances. It does this by confining the operation of paragraph
1(c) to financial years from 1 July 1999.
