                SOCIAL SERVICES LEGISLATION AMENDMENT
                  (FAIR AND SUSTAINABLE PENSIONS) 2015

            Amendments to be moved on behalf of the Government

OUTLINE

These Government amendments remove from the Bill the following Schedules:

      Schedule 1 - Defined benefit income streams;
      Schedule 2 - Proportional payment of pensions outside Australia;
      Schedule 4 - Energy supplement replacing seniors supplement;
      Schedule 5 - Pensioner education supplement; and
      Schedule 6 - Education entry payment.

The Schedules are being removed for the purpose of this Bill and the 2015 Budget
measures will be reintroduced in separate Bill in due course.

The measure currently provided by Schedule 3 - Assets test and concession cards -
will proceed.

Financial impact statement

The savings from the removed measures will not be realised in this Bill.
