Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) Subject to subsection (2), the regulations may provide that, unless the Minister otherwise directs, medicare benefits are not payable in respect of professional services rendered in prescribed circumstances.
(2) Regulations relating to professional services other than pathology services may not be made under subsection (1) except in accordance with a recommendation made to the Minister by the Medicare Benefits Advisory Committee.
