NAVIGATION (CONSTRUCTION) REGULATIONS 1968 - REG 10
Afterpeak and machinery space bulkheads
- (1)
- A ship shall be provided with a watertight afterpeak bulkhead and with
watertight bulkheads dividing the space appropriated to the main and auxiliary
propelling machinery, the boilers, if any, and the permanent coal bunkers, if
any, from other spaces.
- (2)
- Subject to the next succeeding subregulation, the bulkheads referred to in
the last preceding subregulation shall be watertight up to the bulkhead deck.
- (3)
- The afterpeak bulkhead may be stopped below the bulkhead deck if the
safety of the ship is not thereby impaired.
