1. Amendment


  1.1 The Electoral and Referendum  Regulations are amended as set out in
these Regulations.
(NOTE:  These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act
1901, s. 48.)

2.  Regulation 39A (Ballot-paper-House of Representatives)


  2.1 Add at the end:
  "(2) If there are more than 30 candidates for a Division, Form F in Schedule
1 to the Act is altered so that the names of the candidates are set out:
  (a) in vertical columns that are as nearly as possible of equal length; and
  (b) in the order required by section 212 of the Act so that each column
after the first commences with the name of the candidate next succeeding that
of the candidate whose name appears last in the immediately preceding
column.".
