Citation


  1. These Regulations may be cited as the Electoral Officers (Remuneration
and Allowances) Regulations.

Interpretation


  2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears-
  "electoral officer" means the Electoral Commissioner, the Deputy Electoral
Commissioner or an Australian Electoral Officer for a State;
  "the Act" means the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918.

Remuneration


  3. Remuneration at the rate per annum specified in column 3 of an item in
the Schedule is prescribed for the purposes of sub-section 7Q (1) of the Act
in respect of an electoral officer specified in column 2 of that item.

Annual allowance


  4. Annual allowance at the rate per annum, if any, specified in column 4 of
an item in the Schedule is prescribed for the purposes of sub-section 7Q (2)
of the Act in respect of an electoral officer specified in column 2 of that
item.

Further allowances of electoral officers


  5. In addition to annual allowance prescribed in regulation 4, the following
allowances are prescribed for the purposes of sub-section 7Q (2) of the Act,
namely, the allowances payable to an officer of the Australian Public Service.
