1. Amendment


  1.1 The War Service Estates Regulations are amended as set out in 
these Regulations.
[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation 
Act 1901, s. 48.]

2. Regulation 3 (Interpretation)


  2.1 Omit the regulation, substitute:
Interpretation
  "3. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:
  'Act' means the War Service Estates Act 1942;
  'Repatriation Commission' means the Repatriation Commission 
constituted by the Veterans' Entitlements Act 1986;
  'service chief' means:
  (a) in relation to a deceased member who was a member of, or 
attached to or accompanied, the Navy - the Chief of Navy;
  (b) in relation to a deceased member who was a member of, or 
attached to or accompanied, the Army - the Chief of Army;
  (c) in relation to a deceased member who was a member of, or 
attached to or accompanied, the Air Force - the Chief of Air Force.".
