Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Code Order 1999

Section 7 of the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Code Act 1994 (the Act) provides that the Minister may make orders for the purpose of the Act.

The Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Code Bill was passed in 1994 as part of the package of legislation to implement the National Registration Scheme of agricultural and veterinary chemicals. The Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Code Order ("the Order") provide necessary support to the Act.

The purpose of the Order is to prescribe standardised labels for containers for certain swimming pool and spa chemicals, known as hypochlorites.

The National Registration Authority for Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals undertakes to publish on 26 October 1999, in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette, standards for the purpose of prescribed label(s) for swimming pool and spa hypochlorites.

Details of the Order are set out below.

Section 1 names the present Order.

Section 2 specifies that the Order will commence on 31 October 1999.

Section 3 specifies definitions relating to the Order.

Section 4 prescribes standardised labels for containers of pool and spa hypochlorites.
