DRUG AND ALCOHOL TREATMENT ACT 2007 - SECT 4
Application of Act
4 Application of Act
(1) This Act applies in an area prescribed by the regulations. Note: See
section 55A which provides that the Inebriates Act 1912 continues to apply in
relation to a person detained under an order made under that Act immediately
before the commencement of a regulation made under subsection (1).
(2) The
Inebriates Act 1912 does not apply in that area.
(3) However, despite
subsections (1) and (2), this Act does not apply, and the Inebriates Act 1912
does apply, to minors.
(4) Nothing in this Act affects the operation of the
following: (a) the Mental Health Act 1990 ,
(b) the Mental Health (Forensic
Provisions) Act 1990 ,
(c) the Public Health Act 1991 ,
(d) the
Guardianship Act 1987 ,
(e) the Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities)
Act 2002 .
