(1A) A cargo record book may be kept electronically, in a way approved by the relevant national maritime authority of the country whose flag the ship is entitled to fly.
(1) A cargo record book must contain the matters prescribed by the regulations.
(2) A cargo record book must make provision for--(a) a signature in relation to each entry made in it, and(b) a signature--(i) for a record book kept electronically--on each group of electronic entries, or(ii) otherwise--on each page of the record book.Note : See the Guidelines for use of electronic record books under MARPOL, adopted by Resolution MEPC.312(74).
