(1) The Departmental Chief Executive must--(a) cancel an exemption if--(i) the Departmental Chief Executive becomes aware that the exemption holder has been convicted of an animal cruelty offence, or(ii) the exemption holder requests the cancellation, and(b) give written notice of the cancellation to the exemption holder.
(2) The Departmental Chief Executive may cancel an exemption if the Departmental Chief Executive--(a) believes the exemption holder has contravened a condition of the exemption, and(b) gives written notice to the exemption holder of the proposed cancellation, and(c) gives the exemption holder reasonable time to make submissions, and(d) considers submissions made within the reasonable time, and(e) reasonably concludes that the exemption should be cancelled.
