2011 A Bill for An Act to provide for a referendum on the People's House Bill 2011

 


 

Referendum for an Upper House Bill 2011 [s 1] The Parliament of Queensland enacts-- 1 1 Short title 2 This Act may be cited as the Referendum for an Upper House 3 Act 2011. 4 2 Referendum to be held 5 (1) This section applies if the People's House Bill 2011 is passed 6 by the Legislative Assembly. 7 (2) The following question must be submitted, under the 8 Constitution Act Amendment Act 1934, section 3, to the 9 electors qualified to vote for the election of members of the 10 Legislative Assembly-- 11 `Are you in favour of the People's House Bill 2011?'. 12 (3) If the polling day for the next election of all councillors of 13 Queensland local governments under the Local Government 14 Act 2009 is a day not sooner than 2 months after the passage 15 of the Bill through the Legislative Assembly, the Minister 16 must recommend to the Governor in Council that the day 17 appointed under the Constitution Act Amendment Act 1934, 18 section 3(3) be the same day. 19 Page 4
