PENALTIES AND SENTENCES ACT 1992 - SECT 153A

If an offender is convicted of an offence punishable by imprisonment, but the maximum term of imprisonment is not prescribed by law, the maximum term that can be imposed is—

(a) if the conviction is on indictment—5 years; or

(b) if the conviction is not on indictment—2 years.
