Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) This section applies despite section 106.
Note—
Under section 106 it is an offence for the owner of a motor vehicle that is the subject of an impounding order or forfeiture order application to modify, sell or otherwise dispose of the vehicle before the application is decided.
(2) The owner of a motor vehicle to which section 106 applies may agree to transfer ownership of the motor vehicle to the State.
(3) The agreement must be written and witnessed by a person who may witness a statutory declaration.
(4) If the State agrees in writing to the transfer of the motor vehicle—
(a) the motor vehicle becomes the property of the State; and
(b) the commissioner may sell or dispose of the motor vehicle and anything in or on it in the way the commissioner considers appropriate.
