Queensland Consolidated Acts Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) This section applies if a following person (the disclosing person), or a person acting under the authority of the disclosing person, makes a false or misleading statement or representation in a disclosure statement given to someone else (the affected person) under section 22A, 22B or 22C—
(a) the lessee under a retail shop lease;
(b) the assignor or assignee of a retail shop lease.
(2) The disclosing person is liable to pay to the affected person reasonable compensation for loss or damage suffered by the affected person because of the false or misleading statement or representation.
