Queensland Consolidated Acts Queensland Consolidated Acts(1) A police officer may apply to the issuing authority for a preventative detention order by phone, fax, video link, email, radio or similar facility if it is reasonably necessary to apply in that way because of--
(a) urgent circumstances; or
(b) other special circumstances, for example, the police officer's remote location.
(2) Before making the application the police officer must prepare the written application as required under this Act.
