TRANSPORT SECURITY (COUNTER-TERRORISM) ACT 2008 - SECT 29

29 Appointment and qualifications

(1) The chief executive may appoint any of the following persons as an authorised officer—

(a) an officer of the department;
(b) another person decided by the chief executive.

(2) However, the chief executive may appoint a person as an authorised officer only if the chief executive is satisfied the person is qualified for appointment because the person has the necessary expertise or experience.
