VICTIMS OF CRIME ASSISTANCE ACT 2009 - SECT 14

14 Contact between victim and accused to be minimised

(1) So far as is reasonably practicable, investigatory agencies, prosecuting agencies and court staff are to, during a court proceeding and within a court building--

(a) minimise a victim's exposure to unnecessary contact with the person accused of committing a crime against the victim, defence witnesses and family members and supporters of the accused person; and
(b) protect a victim from violence or intimidation by the accused person, defence witnesses and family members and supporters of the accused person.

(2) Subsection (1) applies to an investigatory agency or prosecuting agency only to the extent an officer, member or employee of the agency is present during the court proceeding or in the court building.
