South Australian Consolidated Acts72AA—GMO licence—annual charge
(1) A person who is
the holder of a GMO licence at any time during a financial year is liable to
pay a charge for the licence in respect of that year.
(2) The amount of the
charge for a financial year is such amount as is prescribed by the
regulations.
(3) The amount of the
charge prescribed for a financial year may be in the nature of a tax and not
be related to the cost of providing any service.
Note—
This section does not appear in the Commonwealth Act. Provision is included,
however, in the Gene Technology (Licence Charges) Act 2000 of the
Commonwealth for the imposition of an annual charge for a GMO licence.
