South Australian Consolidated Acts (1) Subject to
subsection (3), an authorised officer may, without warrant, arrest a
person who, without reasonable excuse—
(a)
fails to comply with a requirement or direction of an authorised officer under
this Act; or
(b)
hinders an authorised officer in the exercise of powers or functions under
this Act.
(2) Where an
authorised officer arrests a person under this section, the officer must, as
soon as possible, take the person, or have the person taken, to the nearest
police station at which facilities are continuously available for the care and
custody of the person arrested.
(3)
Subsection (1) does not apply to a person appointed as an
authorised officer under this Division if the instrument of appointment does
not confer on the officer the power of arrest under this section.
