Reference to time SCHEDULE 1--Repeal Legislative history STANDARD TIME ACT 2009 - LONG TITLE An Act to fix standard time for South Australia; to repeal The Standard Time Act 1898 and for other purposes. STANDARD TIME ACT 2009 - SECT 1 1--Short title This Act may be cited as the Standard Time Act 2009. STANDARD TIME ACT 2009 - SECT 2 2--Interpretation In this Act-- "Co-ordinated Universal Time" means Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC) as determined by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures and maintained under section 8AA of the National Measurement Act 1960 of the Commonwealth; "instrument" means-- (a) an Act or an instrument made in pursuance of statutory powers; or (b) a proclamation or order in Council; or (c) a judgment, order, judicial direction or process; or (d) an order, direction or notice given in pursuance of an executive or administrative authority; or (e) a deed, contract, or other instrument. STANDARD TIME ACT 2009 - SECT 3 3--Standard time in South Australia Standard time throughout South Australia is 9 hours and 30 minutes in advance of Co-ordinated Universal Time. STANDARD TIME ACT 2009 - SECT 4 4--Reference to time Subject to the Daylight Saving Act 1971, a reference to time in any instrument or in any oral contract, stipulation or direction is, unless the contrary intention is expressed, to be taken to be a reference to South Australian standard time. STANDARD TIME ACT 2009 - SCHEDULE 1 Schedule 1--Repeal 1--Repeal of The Standard Time Act 1898 The Standard Time Act 1898 is repealed.
