South Australian Consolidated ActsSchedule—Transitional provisions
2—Transitional provisions
relating to Board
A member of the Board in office on the commencement of this clause continues
in office, subject to this Act, for the remainder of the term for which he or
she was appointed.
3—Transitional provisions relating to registration
(1) The register of
veterinary surgeons maintained under the repealed Act continues in existence
as the general register under this Act.
(2) The register of
specialists maintained under the repealed Act continues in existence as the
specialist register under this Act.
(3) On the
commencement of this clause—
(a) the
name of any company that was registered as a veterinary surgeon under the
repealed Act will be taken to be removed from the general register; and
(b) the
name of each person who, immediately before the commencement of this clause,
was the holder of a permit that was in force under the repealed Act will be
taken to be added to the general register (as if the person had been granted
limited registration),
and the Registrar will modify the registers accordingly.
(4) A person whose
name is on the general register or the specialist register immediately
following the commencement of this clause will be taken to be registered under
this Act on the relevant register and any restrictions, limitations or
conditions that applied to the registration of the person, or the permit held
by the person, under the repealed Act immediately before that commencement
will be taken to continue to apply to the registration of the person under
this Act as if they had been imposed by the Board under this Act.
(5) If a person whose
name was removed from a register under the repealed Act for any reason and
whose name had not, before the commencement of this Act, been reinstated on
that register, applies for registration under this Act, the Board may deal
with the application as though it were an application for reinstatement on the
appropriate register under this Act.
The regulations may make other provisions of a savings or transitional nature
consequent on the enactment of this Act.
