An officer of the Department authorised by the Chief Executive for the purpose
is entitled to the lawful custody of a youth against whom proceedings under
this Act have been, or are about to be, brought, while that youth is being
conveyed to or from a court, or while the youth is within the precincts of the
court, and may, at any time, search the youth and remove any object that the
officer considers may cause injury or damage to any person or property.
