South Australian Consolidated Regulations South Australian Consolidated Regulations49—Attendance of other recovery vehicle may be called for in certain
circumstances
(1) If the holder of a
current towtruck certificate attending the scene of an accident in response to
an accident towing direction forms the opinion that a vehicle, other than an
approved accident towtruck, is required for a purpose related to the recovery
or towing of a damaged vehicle, he or she may (with the approval of the
officer in charge of the Police Communications Centre at the time or an
authorised officer) cause that other vehicle to attend the scene of that
accident and recover or tow the damaged vehicle.
(2) The attendance,
identity and owner of that other vehicle, and any other relevant fact, must be
recorded on the accident towing roster and the authority to tow.
