South Australian Consolidated Regulations (1) The Minister may
require a person who applies for appointment as an officer to provide any of
the following:
(a) a
certified birth extract from an official register of births or such other
evidence of the applicant's age as is satisfactory to the Minister;
(b) a
medical certificate certifying that the applicant is of sound health and free
from a physical or mental defect likely to impair the applicant's efficiency
in the performance of the duties he or she would be required to perform if
appointed;
(c)
documentary evidence of the applicant's experience and qualifications or other
evidence satisfactory to the Minister of the applicant's suitability to
perform the duties that he or she would be required to perform if appointed.
(2) An applicant
who—
(a) in
his or her application; or
(b) in
response to a requirement of the Minister; or
(c) in
response to a question put to the applicant in relation to the application by
a medical practitioner or a person responsible for assessing the application,
knowingly furnishes information that is false or misleading in a material
particular (whether by reason of the inclusion or omission of any particular),
is guilty of an offence.
Maximum penalty: $100.
(3) The Minister must
pay the medical expenses, if any, incurred by an applicant under this
regulation.
