COOPERATIVES ACT 1999 (NO. 85 OF 1999) - SECT 279

279. Notice required to be given of voting interest

      (1) A person (whether or not a member of the cooperative) must give notice to a cooperative within 5 business days after becoming aware that the person has a relevant interest in the right to vote of a member of the cooperative.

Penalty:

Fine not exceeding 20 penalty units.

      (2) A person (whether or not a member of the cooperative) who has ceased to have a relevant interest in the right to vote of a member of a cooperative must give notice to the cooperative within 5 business days after becoming aware of that fact.

Penalty:

Fine not exceeding 20 penalty units.

      (3) Section 183 provides for the effect of a person having a relevant interest in the right to vote of a member of a cooperative.
