Tasmanian Numbered Acts49. Savings and transitional regulations
"commencement day" means the day proclaimed under section 2;
"repealed Act" means the Dangerous Goods Act 1976 .
(2) The Governor may make regulations of a savings and transitional nature consequent on the enactment of this Act.
(3) The regulations may take effect on the commencement day or a later day.
(4) Without limiting the generality of subsection (2), the regulations may provide for
(a) the termination or temporary continuation, with or without any modifications reasonably required for the purposes of this Act, of any licence, permit, approval, authority or other right or entitlement subsisting under the repealed Act immediately before the commencement day; and
(b) the termination or temporary continuation of any appointment made under section 5 of the repealed Act and subsisting immediately before the commencement day; and
(c) the exercise after the commencement day, in the interests of public safety, of a power that was exercisable by a person under the repealed Act immediately before that day.
(5) The regulations may authorise any matter to be determined, applied or
regulated by the Minister or a Competent Authority.
