CRIMINAL RULES 2006 (S.R. 2006, NO. 24) - NOTES

We, the Honourable Peter George Underwood, Officer of the Order of Australia, Chief Justice, the Honourable Ewan Charles Crawford, the Honourable Pierre William Slicer, the Honourable Peter Ethrington Evans, the Honourable Alan Michael Blow, OAM, and the Honourable Shan Tennent, Puisne Judges of the Supreme Court of Tasmania, make the following Rules of Court under the Criminal Code Act 1924.

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

Notified in the Gazette on 26 April 2006.

These Rules of Court are administered in the Department of Justice.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the rule)

These Rules of Court make provision in respect of the conduct of criminal proceedings, including matters relating to the following:

(a) bail and recognizances;

(b) private prosecutions;

(c) trials at bar;

(d) victim impact statements;

(e) certain certificates;

(f) recording of proceedings;

(g) proceedings on appeal;

(h) examination of witnesses out of the State;

(i) various other matters.
